Gozu (2004)

A lunatic yakuza member is irritating his boss with his insanity. He orders him killed.  The film remixes the Yakuza genre with the psychological thrillers of Mullholland Dr. and Rosemary's Baby. A timid virgin needs to find his "Brother"  aniki 兄貴/aneki 姉貴.  A complex labyrinth which links cafes, hotels, and junkyards. The film is about gender ambiguity, sexual tension, the occult, fetishes, death, miscommunication, and misdirection.  The characters are in a metaphysical nightmare.
