Wonder Showzen

Jon Glaser said it best in an interview when asked about his comedic style, "I always thought it was just dumb".  The show is so dumb that it is existential nihilism.  Completely pushing any morality to the extreme.  Murdering a bug.  Homeless robbing liquor stores with Vietnam flashbacks.  Suicidal #2's and adventures gone awry.  The show is a childrens show.  It takes the medium of Sesame Street to the Nth degree.  This show is painful, it is nightmarish, a journey inside a psychopath.  Creativity is pushed far.  Using narration, the brilliant links almost outdoing even Monty Python (DUHHH ME A STATUE).  It is about animal rights.  It is about slavery.  It is about capitalism and wall street.  It is about deconstructing all myths.  Denying god.  Denying Christ.  It blasphemes all and in the most elegantly racist way possible.  The show makes no sense, yet the plot is clear.  It is about Numbers.  Space.  Patience.  Science.  Wordsworth (Nerdsworth).  Etc.  The show may be the greatest show of all time.  Sadly the second season lacked much of the intense creativity of the first.  Yet the show managed to be like the creative music giants.  Never repeat.  And always reinvent the medium you use.  They are the the television equivalent of The Residents except more grotesque.

Season 1 9.5/10
Season 2 8.5/10
